Congress Intensifies Door-to-Door Campaign in Cheema Village for Tarn Taran Byelection 2025
The Congress party conducted an extensive door-to-door campaign in Cheema village today as part of its election strategy for the upcoming byelection to the Tarn Taran constituency, scheduled for November 11, 2025.
Strong Support for Karanbir Singh Burj
During the village campaign, Congress candidate S. Karanbir Singh Burj received enthusiastic support from local residents. Party workers actively engaged with voters, encouraging them to press button number 4 with the hand symbol on the electronic voting machine on November 11.

Karanbir Singh Burj, a 49-year-old agriculturist and real estate businessman, serves as vice-president of the Tarn Taran District Congress Committee. This will be his first electoral contest, representing the party's choice of a local leader with deep community roots.
The byelection became necessary following the death of AAP MLA Dr. Kashmir Singh Sohal in June 2025. A total of 15 candidates are competing for this seat, making it a multi-cornered contest involving AAP, BJP, Shiromani Akali Dal, and several independent candidates.
